Do you work mainly in Lyon?

The AFL centre is located in Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement, near the Place Bahadourian. In addition to offering our services at our centre, we can also meet our students and clients elsewhere if required.

What services does the Alliance Française de Lyon provide for students?

The AFL offers extensive (16 hours per month) or intensive (60 hours per month) French lessons as well an extra-intensive programme that combines general French lessons and lessons in spoken French (80 hours per month).

The AFL also offers a French programme designed especially for au pairs.

The AFL testing centre issues certificates providing proof of students’ level in French.

The AFL’s housing office helps foreign students find the right accommodation for their needs whenever possible: homestay, residence hall, studio flat, etc.

What makes you stand out from the competition?

Our flexibility in terms of lesson schedules and content allows a more tailored response to the needs of people who come to us to learn French as a foreign language. Students can combine general French lessons and additional lessons.

The AFL’s teachers are experienced in teaching French as a foreign language and in certain specific fields.

The renovated, spacious classrooms are all equipped with interactive whiteboards. A multimedia area can be used to schedule classes on a computer.

In addition to courses, a wide variety of activities are offered: individual tutoring, reading workshops and a cinema club as well as cultural and tourism activities in Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region.

Finally, the long-established expertise of our global network of partners is a sign of the quality of our teaching methods and opens doors to many international projects.
